Bedroom to SLX Academy.
Sarah has been building SLX since 2021. Four chapters brought it here: from a bedroom in shared accommodation, the growth, SLX Studio, and now SLX Academy. Each one made the next possible.
The bedroom.
Sarah started doing nails at university, working out of her bedroom before moving to her living room of a shared house in between and after lectures. All Sarah knew was she wanted to build a business of her own. After taking courses that only taught her the basics, she saw the potential to give others a better opportunity to learn at a high standard from the start.
The growth.
Building her social media following happened in parallel. Views of her work started growing, first tens of thousands, then hundreds, and then millions. The interest outgrew what a living room could hold. While she worked multiple side hustles alongside uni, Sarah put every spare penny towards a space of her own. After graduating from the University of Brighton, studying Business Management, Sarah invested all her savings into SLX Studio.
SLX Studio.
Within less a year of doing nails from her university house, Sarah was able to move into her 2nd studio. Since then Sarah has been continuing to grow her brand, alongside a busy list of happy clients. She prides herself in her unique artistic designs that gets everybody hooked from day one. Once she'd mastered the craft, Sarah's passion quickly turned to helping others achieve the goals she one day dreamed of. This is where she began teaching her in-person accredited courses and since then has helped to create a huge number of nail technicians ready to build their own businesses.
SLX Academy.
After years of learning the craft and then the business, Sarah decided it was time to take SLX to the next level. Using her knowledge gained from her business management degree and years of studying, the work began to create an online platform which focuses on many different areas of the business. First starting with her online courses, and then building SLX Collective - a close-knit community of nail artists where they can connect with others to fast-track their business growth. The idea behind the community is to create a space for nail artists to help each other grow, communicate and just make new friends sharing the same passion. SLX Retreats will be for those who want to combine luxury with investing in their education, working on key areas such as social media and the business fundamentals. With portfolio shoots and guest speakers as part of the package. For those who have begun their journey and want to take their business to the next level, SLX offers 1-2-1 mentorship covering technical and social skills, social media and business strategy/growth.
